HIAB transport and lorry-mounted crane offload

HIAB hire for loads that have to be lifted off rather than wheeled off — kerbside, over a fence line, or placed into position on site.

A crane that cannot reach is a wasted day for everyone standing around it. Most failed HIAB jobs are specification failures agreed over the phone in thirty seconds.

We work out the weight, the radius, the lift height and the ground conditions before the vehicle is booked, so the specification that arrives can finish the lift.

What we work out before booking

The lift is designed from the delivery point backwards: where the vehicle can stand, how far the load has to travel, and what the ground will carry.

  • Load weight against crane capacity at the required radius
  • Standing position, outrigger spread and ground bearing
  • Obstructions: fences, cables, canopies and parked vehicles
  • Lift height and any placement accuracy required
02

Typical HIAB work

Anything that has to be placed rather than rolled off a tail lift.

  • Cabins, containers and welfare units
  • Steelwork, beams and precast components
  • Plant, machinery and packaged building materials
  • Kerbside and verge offload where there is no site plant
03

On the day

The driver is briefed on the site rules, the reporting procedure and the lift plan. Your site contact knows when the vehicle is arriving and what needs to be clear for it.

  • Site access and induction requirements confirmed in advance
  • Exclusion zone requirements agreed with your site team
  • Progress updates while the vehicle is en route
  • Proof of delivery on completion
